WELCOME TO VEGIWIKI !!!

This site was originally created as a way to keep an up-to-date list of restaurants that support Veg* diets
by providing menu options that don't have any animal sources at all, and was expanded to include those mearly sans meat.

Since this wiki's creation, other topic areas have been created to provide a solid and fact-based resource for readers interested in learning more about the Veg* life.

As with any wiki resource, this site a work in progress, and needs contributions from anyone who is willing to take the time to add fact-based (cite-able) articles, recipes,
or other information about the topics listed below. The registration is free and once you have a log-in editing pages is as easy as type and [save].

  • Please contribute if you can!

Discussion

I (Ron) registered #vegwiki on irc.freenode.net. That seems like a decent place for collaboration/discussion.

If preferred, we can set up a mailing list instead (I don't really know how to do that, but I can figure it out).

Instructions/rules

These are under construction.

  • When possible, if you need to talk to a company or person to find out whether or not something is vegan, list who you talked to and when on the appropriate page. Better yet, post the full email from a company representative.
  • At the bottom of each page, add appropriate category tags (see already made pages for examples).
  • To edit pages, you have to create an account -- if I let anonymous users post, I get a ton of spam I have to clean up.
  • This page has no association with specific restaurants or suppliers or anything like that; however, restaurants are welcome to make edits here, provided that:
    • They're honest
    • They aren't posting a sales pitch
  • If you want to play, play in the Sandbox
